Isandlwana battlefield: This highly significant historical site is where the first major encounter in the Anglo-Zulu War between the British Empire and the Zulu Kingdom occurred on 22 January 1879. Annually the historic battle is reenacted attracting large crowds of spectators.

Rorke’s Drift: the mission station well known for the British defense against a large contingent of Zulu warriors (1879). Visit the museum inside the original mission station.

Fugitive’s Drift trail: Follow the 14 km historical path from Isandlwana to the Buffalo River taken by British soldiers escaping the Zulu impi.

Blood River: The Battle of Blood River on 16 December 1838 was fought on the bank of the Ncome River, between 464 Voortrekkers and an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 Zulu warriors.
